Nuva Feeder design (vent & equalising pipeline Design)

we do have combine vacuum & pressure system for Ash handling plant.

Accumulated fly ash in ESP Hoppers are Evacuated by Vacuum Process from respective hoppers & conveyed through bag filters & collected in buffer Hopper in dry form. this dry ash through NUVA FEEDERS, below Buffer Hoppers is pressure conveyed to Ash Silo through pressure conveying system.

we are facing a lot of problem in NUVA Feeders, as Frequent choking of NUVA feeders Body Fluidising lines, Frequent choking of Pressure conveying pipeline(just below NUVA Feeders), No ash Discharge from NUVA Feeders to Pressure conveying pipeline, Frequent Passing of Vent Valves, no ash transfer from Buffer hopper to NUVA feeders .

can anybody help in understanding NUVA Feeder Design.

1. vent piping design for NUVA feeder filling time;

2. Equalising Piping Design for NUVA Feeders

3. Fluidising piping design for NUVA feeders. ESP Hoppers.

Nuva Feeders are batch type line chargers which require correct syncronization of all the vales ( inlet, discharge and vent) or the tanks will not operate correctly.

If any of the gates do mnot make a 100% air tight seal when closed, the system will not work properly.

If the fluidization system is not working correctly, the Nuva Feeders can plug and therefore the whole system will not work properly

There are MANY individual problems which can result in Nuva Feeders not working properly.

The analysis would require a complete understanding of the components, sequence of operation and interaction with the other parts of the system

Regards

Dear Gurpratap,

These 2 lines, the vent line and the pressure equalization lines, must be designed as dilute phase pneumatic conveying lines to prevent their plugging with solids that are entrained. Make sure that the conveying velocity in these lines is sufficiently high throughout these lines.

Dear Mr. Gurpratap,

Vent and Equalizing pipelines should be designed to prevent them from plugging with solids that are being fluidized and conveyed. This is easily done by using vertical or nearly vertical pipelines so that they are self-emptying. If this configuration is not practical, these lines should be designed as dilute phase pneumatic conveying lines with sufficiently high conveying velocity to prevent solids from plugging the pipe.

Fluidization (or aeration) inside the Feeder should be controlled to minimize carryover of solids with the exhaust air. This is done by providing adequate flow control and flow metering of the fluidizing air.

Dear Mr. Gurpratap,

Vent and equalizing pipelines are designed to prevent their plugging up with solids that are being conveyed. For this, these pipelines should be vertical or have a steep angle without any elbow, or designed as conveying lines with sufficiently high conveying velocity.

For fluidizing lines, it is important that that the fluidizing air covers the entire section of the feeder and the air flow at each section is controlled to maintain the required air flow.

I will be happy to review your design if you give details of your present design.
