Pipe magnets reliably separate finest ferrous metal particles
For all applications in the plastics industry "S+S Separation and Sorting Technology GmbH" of-fers a wide range of magnet separators that primarily are used for separating magnetic metals from bulk materials and single-piece materials in production and recycling. Exactly matched to the respective types of materials, production stages, and conveyor systems, these separators perfectly supplement existing inductive metal detectors and separators.
The EXTRACTOR pipe magnet was developed for being used in the plastics industry and pro-tects extruders, injection-moulding machines, and blow-moulding machines. It examines different granulates up to a grain size of 6 mm and a temperature of 80° C in standing or slow-moving material columns. For high-temperature applications of up to 350° C the pipe magnet is available with a special samarium-cobalt magnet material. When installed directly on the inlet of the machine, the magnet separator removes any ferromagnetic contaminants from the granulate shortly before this granulate is processed. The special housing design does not allow any depositing of plastic granulate (which is important in case of a colour or material change). The compact system design combined with the customer-specific connection dimensions facilitates the subsequent installation in existing lines. The magnet separator is highly sturdy and is able to bear dynamic loads of up to 500 kg (shear load up to 50 kg).
The EXTRACTOR system features two or three neodymium magnet rods. The high magnetic force of 6000 Gauss at the effective surface guarantees that even finest ferromagnetic particles are reliably separated, which consequently reduces costly repair work and production line downtimes. The EASY CLEAN feature of the magnet rods allows efficient cleaning of the sys-tem in a very short time, and the separated contaminants can then be analysed. For strict ex-plosion-protection requirements the magnet separators are available in an ATEX certified ver-sion.
