Solvay / Brazil to modernise their bagging equipment for PVC powder
One of the leading companies in the petrochemical industry, Solvay Indupa, has recently installed and commissioned ultramodern bagging systems in the Brazilian works in Santo Andr as well as in a further plant in Bahia Blanca in Argentina.
The systems were supplied by Haver & Boecker, the specialist for advanced and innovative bagging solutions as well as for storage and transport of bulk materials.
At first, the bagging line for suspension PVC ( S-PVC ) powder was installed in Santo Andr works in the So Paulo conurbation. The plant is already operating perfectly. The system includes a 4-spout ROTOSEAL air-type Packer with an output of 800 bags / hour working according to the air-type filling system. The ROTOSEAL Packer can be extended by two spouts enabling an increase of the output to 1,200 bags/hour. Besides the ultrasonic sealing of the bags, the scope of delivery comprises automatic bag signing, a metal detector and belt check weigher.
Shortly before, Haver & Boecker had supplied two INTEGRA systems to Santo Andr works, operating according to the plug & pack system for bagging emulsion PVC powder. The INTEGRA is a compact system in which the filling machine, the automatic bag placer, the valve sealing system, the control system, the control and switchgear as well as the discharge belt are placed inside the same encapsulated dust-proof housing. Besides its simple erection and commissioning, this compact bagging system is characterised by fully complying with the requirements regarding cleanness and emission protection. It thus makes a contribution to environmental protection (according to ISO 14000 Standards).
Moreover, Haver & Boecker have supplied a bagging line comprising a 6-spout ROTOSEAL Packer to the Argentinian works in Bahia Blanca belonging to the Solvay group. It is meant for bagging suspension PVC powder as well.
The equipment supplied to Solvay represents a milestone particularly in the South American industry as far as the technology for bagging PVC powders is concerned, since the valve is sealed automatically after the bag has been filled.
