FLSmidth wins coal handling project in India

Valby, Denmark, June 10, 2010 - FLSmidth has been awarded a contract worth approximately EUR 36m (DKK 265m) by Korba West Power Corporation Limited for supply and installation of a 1,800 tonnes per hour coal handling plant for their upcoming 2x600 MW power plant, currently under construction at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, India. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Avantha Power & Infrastructure Limited.

The order comprises track hoppers, paddle feeders, stacker, reclaimers and pipe conveyors as well as a belt conveyor system, ring granulators, vibrating grizzly feeders and trippers. FLSmidth electrical and air pollution control equipment is also included in the supply.

"This coal handling package is the sixth material handling order awarded to FLSmidth in just seven months. It reinforces the strength of FLSmidth's "One Source" offering and shows the customers' appreciation of the advanced technology and complete solutions available from FLSmidth's material handling business as well as the Indian organisation's capability to execute large turnkey projects," Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.

The order will contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until commissioning in early 2013.

Good News

Posted on 11. Jun. 2010 - 06:12

I think this news gives answer to various queries /doubts raised by Hon. members of this Portal ---FUTURE OF BULK MATERIAL HANDLING FORUM.

Good suppliers/ companies in this field going to have very good time but they are going to face problems of getting experienced People for executing jobs related to this sector. We have already given our forecast in this Portal about this situation (ABOUT 2 YEARS BACK) under the head--India is a sleeping Giant and now wakes up.

Good cos. from Europe like-FLS,THYSEEN KRUPP,METSO,AUMUND are going to have very good times in India for another 15 years.

Most of the clients in India have already tested/ experienced the quality of Heavy equipment from our neighboring countries. I think it is right time for the suppliers/companies in similar field from other countries like SPAIN,RUSSIA, CZECHOSLOVAKIA TO PITCH IN WITH SOME INDIAN PARTNERS SINCE THE PRESENT COMPANIES ARE GOING TO LOAD FULLY WITH IN NEXT 2 YEARS.

The other upcoming sectors like MINING,MEGA POWER PLANTS UP TO 4000 MW,MEGA PORTS UP TO 50 MTPA are going to have problems for outsourcing the equipment and manpower.
