In May 2014 Claudius Peters Projects has been awarded a contract from PT Semen Padang to supply two new Cement Storage Silos for their new Indarung VI plant. PT Semen Padang was established in 1910 and is the oldest cement plant in Indonesia. For some years PT Semen Padang belongs to PT Semen Gresik Group, which has been renamed PT Semen Indonesia in January 2013.
The scope of supply comprises 2 storage silos type IC with Inspection Chamber, each with a diameter of 20 m and a volume of 9000 m. The two silos are to be placed on 2 rail tracks in line with another 4 existing and well proven Claudius Peters IC Silos supplied in the 90’s. From each silo, 3 rail cars of 2 trains are loaded by mobile loaders. A special solution in this project was needed to consider the circumstances that the 2 new silos are placed on the rail tracks with curves of different radius.
The Indarung VI plant which is expected to commence operation in the second half of 2016, will also be equipped with 2 new Packing Plants from Claudius Peters.
