New Generation of Microwave Solid Flow Transducer
The new MIC - transducer of Hense Wägetechnik GmbH is based on the latest microprocessor technology from mobile phones. The microwave transducer measures the flow of solid particles in pipes. The sensor operates maintenance free and without contact to the product. The stainless steel sensor tube (V4A) can additionally be protected with a ceramic coating. A high temperature version up to 200C is available.
The transducer design is independing from the diameter of the measuring pipe. A confortable software is provided for calibration and service via the USB - interface. The transducer can be calibrated for 2 different products.
The sensor can be equipped with the following interfaces:
Analogue output: 2 x 4 - 20mA, pulse output (counter pulses / kg), Modbus or Can Bus...

The new MIC Sensor by Hense Wägetechnik
An additional evaluation electronic is not required. During calibration the flow signal can be displayed on the screen of the notebook. The influence of the new calibration can be displayed in comparision to the "old" adjustment.
A simple, low cost flow detector is available with the same software but only with a transistor output for flow / no flow detection. The adjustment via the software is very easy to do.
Flow Meter systems like weight feeder, impact scales and others can be used to measure free flowing solids of good nature. Very fine powders like white lime, lime hydrate and cement cause often problems with caking and dust emmission.
In the praxis is may be very expensive to install weigh feeder inside a dust tight housing - even in this case the belt cleaning system requires periodical maintenance
and the dust collection system may produce additional measuring errors.
Fine powders are often conveyed via screw conveyor. If screw conveyors are instrumented with the correct weighing components, they can be used for material transport and mass flow measurement simultanously.
For precise weighing it is essential, that the inlet and the outlet of the screw conveyor are decoupled. The speed of the conveyor must be measure and controlled to achieve a nearly constant material level inside the screw.
The new evaluation electronic detects the speed of the conveyor and multiplies this with the net material weight.
The electronic can be delivered for field- and panel mounting. The display shows the actual flow rate, the total flow and a historical graph of the flow rate. The system is available with English, German, Russian and Turkish user language. Soft keys allow an easy and flexible operation - also with customized application software. Selectable in- and outputs for speed sensors, batching, counting and tare functions are available. Presently the electronic is able to work with RS 232,RS 485, Modbus, Profibus and Ethernet.

The new weigh feeder design from Hense Wägetechnik GmbH can be precisely matched to the requirements of the user. Depending on the product type, the weigh feeder operates with a flat belt or trough angle.

The conveyor can be manufactured with a transport length from 1,5 to 10m. The belt material, the scraper (cleaning device) and the mechanical details are depending on the product and the application. The weigh feeder is provided with a transport- and overload lock, which is activated via a robust lever at the side of the conveyor. After the installation of the weigh feeder the lever is switched into the “weighing” position and the belt scale starts to work.
