Power Segregation: What's the Problem?

Posted in: , on 7. Jul. 2015 - 15:21

I'm looking to understand the industrial problems of segregation in moving powered materials and mixes.

I already know the basics, but what seems to be missing is a qualitative and ideally quantitative study that outlines the problems.

Who are the real experts on this?

Are there papers that point to the problems?

Thanks

Rob

The problem is that Segregation is a generic term for a wide range of different separating mechanisms of which each depend on many factors of the bulk material so there is no embracing quantitative relationship that allows a general approach. An analysis has to follow the route of particle properties, forces, mechanisms, processes to applications. The BMHB book - 'Users Guide to segregation' sets out the structure and includes examples and some rectifying techniques that may be useful.
