Coal Consumption

While going through case study of HEAT BALANCE of client, I got understand that, achived thermal energy of 105kcal/kg of clinker leads to saving of 32475t coal/annum . Well the capacity of clinker production also got changed after arresting some defect and rectifying leads to 172TPH from 165TPH.

I didn’t understand how they must had calculated the given coal consumption by saving of 105kcal/kg of clinker. However iam inclined to believe on them , but the calculation of coal which I don’t lnow pose to in middle of my answer approach.

Can anybody tell me how to calculate coal linking to heat .

This follows on your thread about calciner air demand. There used to be a sister magazine to Bulk Handling which was devoted to cement production. You should track down the process designers who contributed & post your questions there.

You are not likely to receive meaningful free answers to major cement process design criteria wihtout doing your own engineering process homework which might in turn enable you to post more meaningful queries evidenced by realistic data.

Your data is inconsistent inasmuch as 105kcal/kg (nowadays 441kJ/kg) is the consumption & next the saving.

There are some good cement technology books. You need to refer to them for getting some basic knowledge. If you work with an consulting company, your library will have such books.
