The proper notation of this is:

"Milk of Lime"

Hydrated lime which is finely ground limestone that has been ground to 30 mesh or less consistancy of high quality which has been cooked/heated in a rotary kiln/ is used to create the milk of lime slurry to extract sucrose base sugar from sugar beets and sugar cane to create molasses, brown sugars and table sugar.

Hydrated lime is also used for sewage treatment by

mixing it with water in a lime slaker and creating a milk of lime slurry and introducing it into the incoming sewage flows to settle out and congeal the solids for further sewage treatment.

Hydrated lime is used as a soil ammendmant to bring soil PH to a neutral or near nutral ph to reduce acidity in soils.

Hydrated lime is used to control odors and disease from the decaying flesh of animals and used in the unfortunate event of as human catastrophie where many bodies have not been recovered and have to be coated with the hydrated lime to reduce the stench and reduce the possibilty of disease transmission to other humans recovering the cadavers in question when the time comes to retrieve the body.

I am sure I missed a few application of milk of lime but the important ones are the ones I have listed.
