SBM solution for Wiedenmann

New gravel processing plant with capacity of 200 t/h

Gravel has become an indispensable part of today's construction industry. It’s an important raw material in the manufacture of concrete, but is equally important as a filler material for dams. Wiedenmann from Aichstetten, Germany, operates a gravel plant in Leutkirch - Haid. Wiedenmann also supplies materials for roadwork as well as aggregates for concrete manufacturing.

Thanks to the expert knowledge of SBM Mineral Processing from Laakirchen / Austria, it took just six months to set up a custom-built gravel processing plant with an output of 200 t/h at the Leutkirch gravel plant completing the task in July. Just a month later the plant was up to full production capacity.

Durability, reliability and perfect service

The gravel processed here is drawn from various quarries. The pre-crushing plant breaks down the raw material of approx. 0 - 150 mm to approx. 0 - 80 mm. Following this step the material is then processed by the custom-built SBM Mineral Processing gravel processing plant. The results are grain sizes of 0/4 4/8 8/16 and 16/32 mm.

The specialists from SBM Mineral Processing have succeeded in mastering the requirements dictated by local conditions:

• Designing and setting up the plant in a cramped space to use 6 existing loading silos - thus making best possible use of the available space (see photo)

Description of the gravel processing plant

Moraine gravel 0 – 150 mm is transported by a belt conveyor (approx. 200 to/h) via a washer to the first screening machine K 18/50 - 2 – separation at 32 mm and 4 mm, material 32 - X mm is now fed to a buffer silo and to the crushed gravel plant - 0-4 mm to the bucket-wheel - 4 – 32 mm via the transfer chute to the DWSW 1500/022/060 twin-shafted log washer with baltic brown screen – then fed to a second screening machine K 18/50 – 2.5 and separated at 16 + 8 + 4 mm – transport via conveyor belts to the silos.

Power supply and controls

The fully automated plant is designed for one-man operation. The production process is shown on screen, malfunctions are displayed and can thus be remedied immediately. A video observation system is available for monitoring material transfer and silos. Wattless current compensation ensures power savings.

Wiedenmann is extremely satisfied with the perfect, trouble-free completion of the whole project by the experts from SBM Mineral Processing and with the smooth running operation at the new gravel processing plant.
