Hi all,

I am a young enterprenur who is trying to set up a Ultra Fine Mineral Grinding and classification plant. In this regard i would like to put forward request for information, machinary offers.

Product: Zirconium Silicate

Final Micronised product Size: 2-5 microns.

Capacity of grinding and classifying plant : 1 Ton/hour.

I would to request all the Machinary providers to get back at me with brochures and cost.

Moreover could anyone clarify which grinding technology is best suited to arrive at micron value of 2-5 at a 1 ton/hr capacity.

Is a AIR JET Mill good for this or the Continour ball mill technology good. Please get back with all the information you have.

Ultrafine Minerals

There isnt enough information in your request to giveyou a definative answer.

The size of the production equipment and the amount of energy required to produce the product will depend greatly upon the final particle size of the product - and there is a huge difference in the requirment for a product that is 50% below 5 micron versus one say 99.99% below 2 micron.

Could you give a more specific final product size specification please.

Do you have constraints on area available for the location of this plant? I presume the plant will run 24/7 or will it produce to requirment?

If you can give me the above information I can start to give you some equipment /production route choices and further information.

Mr Woosnam,

Thanks for your reply. And am sorry for the late reply, i was held up in a Software venture in the meanwhile.

Ideally we would like to have 95% passing 5 microns and lesser.

There are no constraints on Area Available for the plant.

and Yes it would be a 24/7 operation on an average unless there is downtime.

Any information on the machinary will be valuable for our project and when evaluated to be viable will progress in the direction of procurment.

thank you.

Zirkonsilicate of fineness with d50 = 1.1 micron is called Opacifier and used in the ceramic industry.

The most economical way is to produce it by means of ball mill in combination with classifier. The product is directly ground in a closed loop grinding circuit. To avoid contamination of the Zirkonsilicate the complete system has to be lined by means of high quality aluminium oxide.

The capacity of 1 - 2 t/h is reasonable.
