Dear Sirs,

Can any one suggest equipment (similar to online continuous belt weigher) for weighing material online on a chain conveyor.

Regards

Chain conveyors are not really ideal for weighing.

There used to be suppliers of 'nuclear weighers' who could supply systems for use with chain conveyors or the whole conveyor could be mounted on weighcells.

Or you could consider an impact weigher in the chutework either into or out of the chain conveyor.

Weighing With A Chainconveyor

It is possible. You measure the total weight of the chainconveyor and the speed of the chain, similar like it is done with screwconveyors. Inaccuracy will be more than 1% I guess. The weight of the chainconveyor is big compared with the nett weight of the product in the chainconveyor.

If you want we can help you to design a system.

Depending on the construction of the chain/apron conveyor, Merrick Industries manufactures a weighing unit, model 465A for installation on apron conveyors with a trolly/rail pan support system. We utilize this suspension on our own model 450A apron feeders.

You mount the whole chain conveyor in load-cell & forget accuracy level below 4%.
