Re: Belt Became Cupping ( Curl)
There are quite a few possibilities;
> Is there any heat, if so then it could be caused by a shrinking of the polyamide weft fibres due to heat.
> Is the belt troughing well under no load conditions and if not then it could be carcass stretching due to insufficient load support at the loading area
> It could be caused by an extremely poor transition at the head end but this is usually not this extreme.
> If the belt has cut edges it could be chemicals or moisture affect affecting the carcass edges

Re: Belt Became Cupping ( Curl)
This could also be due to the inadequacy of the belt class for the tensions and the manufacturing process of the belt in the factory. For the second supposition one has to look at the history of the belts supplied by the same supplier.

Re: Belt Became Cupping ( Curl)
Hi Ittipon
We had this on many of our belts on one of our projects project
The belts were supplied wrong and were "P.P" which stands for Nylon warp and Nylon Weft here in South Africa.
We ordered E.P which is Nylon warp (down the belt) and Polyester weft (across the eblt)
The stretchy warp combined with poor quality SBR rubber in the belt, which made the rubber loose its elasticity and form the cup shape, made the belts unuseable.
The supplier changed all the belts to good quality EP and all is well.
Note... this effect is made much worse where you have concave vertical profiles
