I can not comment on experience for the drying of carbon black pellets using microwave or infrared. However you may find in your investigation that the energy costs for microwave systems will be high compared to other drying systems. The drying times for infrared systems may long since the heat will only be applied to one surface of the pellets. Convection conveyor driers may be of interest to you since they can use many differnet heat sources and the transport will not cause any damage to the pellets.
