Aggregate Hopper Unbalance Motor

Posted in: , on 20. Dec. 2014 - 15:32

Dears,

I woulk like to select vibbrating motors as flow aids for hopper of aggregate material with 2-3% moisture content.

What is your suggestion for the speed (rpm) of the unbalance motor on hopper wall?

It seems that for free flowing 3000 rpm is preferred and for difficult one 1500 rpm, is it correct?

Have you ever experienced vibrating motor on hopper of aggregate material?

Thanks in advance

Without knowing the details of the hopper and material specs it is difficult to come up with an appropriate answer to your query. You would be best to contact the vibrating motor supplier with your detailed information. They know how their equipment performs. If there are a lot of fines in your material vibration can cause compaction and actually make the flow worse.

Best of luck.

Masaa el Kheer Masoomeh Mohandes,

As my dear friend Gary has stated the

unknowns in your algebra problem very well.

What we still need to know also is the throat size

of the discharge in the hopper as well as the speed of the

conveyor carrying away the material.

I couldn't find any related matter in that site.

I would like to use vibrating motor on hopper wall as flow aid not vibrating feeder as attached picture to my post by moderator.

In below address it suggests vibrator frequency according flowability:

Have you ever experienced flow aid for hopper of aggregate material(sand and gravel for asphalt)?

As aggregate flow is not difficult, 3600 rpm may suitable, isn't it?

I linked you to the Flow Industries site as an alternative to vibrators which tend to pack material in some cases. Again without enough information on your hopper dimensions - hopper cone angles and discharge port size and a screen analysis of your aggregate it is hard to say what will work for you.
