This data comes from VSMA database and personal infield experience:
Topics will be varied:
TROUBLE:
Bearing Failures
PROBABLE CAUSE:
Arching through the bearing during weldingwith improper ground
POSSIBLE REMEDY:
Always ground properly and "YOU MUST GROUND CLOSE to your work" IF you do not, you will flash the bearings and result in premature bearing failure.
TROUBLE:
Bearing Failures
PROBABLE CAUSE:
Normal Fatigue Failure
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
Replace bearing according to manufacturer's assembly instructions
TROUBLE:
Bearing Failures
PROBABLE CAUSE:
Overloading, excessive stroke or speed combination
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
Return vibrating screen to original operating mode and replace bearing.
TROUBLE:
Bearing Failures
PROBABLE CAUSE:
Overheating from lack of lubricant, excessive lubricant, high ambient temperature or incorrect lubricant
POSSIBLE REMEDY:
Check MFR specs and install correct lubricant for corresponding ambient temperature, fill to "correct" oil level in sight gauge (do not overfill) as this creates excessive heat and breaks down protective quality of lubricant, replace bearing and use proper lubricant.
Lots more to follow later. Got a specific question? Go for it.
