I am veru much interested in mixing technology
( MIXOLOGY ) and would like to join this forum.
Please send me info. to participate the group
so that I can study. ■

My inquiry is from fish feed application and is related to
a vertical mixers efficiency.
Before the hammermills we have a vertical mixer
which rotates in average5 min.
The homogenity is very poor due to the fact that
the propertie of the ingrediences are very different.
We are planning to increase the speed of it in order to get better
work. What else can be done and if it is avalible
software / methods / modells to investigate
this process?
Thank you in advance .

Hello,
Generally speaking, to have the best mixing efficiency in batch solids mixers, you can play on the following, for a given mixer :
- Mixing speed
- Load in the mixer - the mixer should not be too full, not too empty neither for some technologies
- Mixing time
- Loading sequence : small ingredients should not be loaded 1st as they will end up close to the walls of the mixer where the agitator will have difficulty to pick them up and redisperse ■

The field of my research work is efficient mixing of bulk materials. Especially I'm interested in information about mathematical models of mixing which I can find in Internet. If you pleased send me some links. ■
