Subject: Calcium Oxide "CaO" Conveying System

Dear Sirs,

I'm Eng. Ahmed Kaydbay from Asfour Crystal Co.

For Calcium Oxide "CaO" Conveying System 20 TPH, Conveying Distance is Horizontal 3 Meters, Vertical 6 Meters, 3 Nos. bends. Lime "CaO" having bulk density 0.89 kg/m3 and in powder form.

Please suggest proper solutions for above material conveying with necessary technical details.

Thank you & Best Regards,

Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Kaydbay

Dear Ahmed,

For a preliminary design of a pneumatic conveying installation, there are some extra data required.

-particle size (I assume 60 micron)

-material feeding (I assume a rotary lock)

-Altitude above sea level (I assume 0 m)

-pressure or vacuum system (I assumed a pressure system)

Based on the above assumptions, I calculated:

Blower: Aerzen GM10S at 3000 rpm – 6.12 m3/min

Filter : 12 m2

Rotary lock: 0.027 m3 at 15 rpm at 1.5 bar

Calculation result:

20 tons/hr at 0.77 bar

Note the preliminary character of this calculation.

Designing and building a pneumatic conveying installation is best be done by an experienced company.

Probably, a screw conveyor or cable-disc conveyor are more economical solutions, due to the very short conveying distance.

If you require more info, let us know.

Have a nice day

Teus
