BURSTING PANEL RANGE NOW FEATURES

ATEX-APPROVED DETECTION

Elfab has extended its unique Flo-Tel burst-detection range into the bursting panel market with the introduction of Panel Flo-Tel.

Panel Flo-Tel is an ATEX-approved burst-detection device supplied as standard with Elfab’s existing range of ATEX-endorsed bursting panels. Suitable for the most arduous applications, the sensor has received ATEX accreditation for use in Zone 0 and Zone 20 hazardous areas.

Panel Flo-Tel is based on Elfab’s magnetically-actuated detection system that provides an open signal once the panel has operated. The system guarantees fail-safe detection and minimises the risk of spurious alarms. No mounting brackets are needed and connection to an intrinsically-safe circuit is straightforward.

Elfab is the first manufacturer of pressure-relief devices to have had its panels ATEX-approved as a “Protective System” (when used with an Elfab-sanctioned frame). Panels are made from corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel as standard, but can be supplied in other materials. Standard sizes range from 0.08m to 2.4m, while designs can be rectangular, square, circular or trapezoidal. Custom sizes are available upon request.

Elfab’s bursting panels operate over a set pressure range of 0.05 bar g to 0.5 bar g and in temperatures ranging from -40ºC to 250ºC. They feature a non-fragmenting design and are suitable for use in back pressure and vacuum conditions.

Bursting panels deliver instant pressure relief through rapid and controlled exhaust venting. They are commonly found in industries that deal with combustible dusts, including sectors handling animal feed, sugar, starch, flour, sawdust, organic chemicals, plastics, metal powders and coal.
