TENOVA TAKRAF AND VALE, A NEW ORDER IN GUINEA

Genoa, Italy, January 25, 2011 - Tenova TAKRAF has signed a contract in Belo Horizonte with VBG to supply a reclaimer with a nominal capacity of 6,000 t/h, a design capacity of 7,200 t/h and a 40 meters boom.

The contract covers all basic and detailed engineering, FOB supply of all structural, mechanical, electrical and control components, supervision of erection, commissioning, operating assistance and on-site personnel training.

Tenova TAKRAF and Brazilian mining giant Vale boast a consolidated, on-going relationship. Vale (CVRD), a long-standing customer of the Business Area, has obtained a concession to mine iron ore in Simandou (Guinea), where it plans to invest in plant and infrastructure. The Brazilian colossus has established VBG, a joint venture with the South African mining company BSGR, to handle the new initiative.
