Rather a broad design brief. Look up a chain manufacturers design handbook & learn something about your topic. That's what most of us did when we were at school.

Dear Shri Naveen,

Chain conveyor design cannot be narrated in such forum. Please refer relevant literature or manufacturer of chain conveyor, for likely size and features of such conveyor.

There are various types of chain conveyors. You have mentioned that this chain conveyor is located within an oil tank, please clarify the function of this chain conveyor i.e. whether it is for stirring purpose or for pulling out the residuals from the oil tank, etc.

The chain conveyor will work very well within the oil tank, because it will have best possible lubrication, for all the moving and wearing parts. Only care you have to take is that when the chain conveyor is coming out, its all joints etc should be properly sealed so that, oil will not leak out and become a nuisance.
