Hi.

We are a small company which are in need for some cheap way to measure the level of some tanks. As of today we use a cheap laser, same as you use at home, measuring distance from the top of the tank to the top of the liquid level.

The way we do this today, is that you have to climb to the top of the tank (10 m), open a lid at the top, set the laser pointing down at the liquid and press the button. Result given is used for calculating the volume in the tank.

We do not need extreme precise measuring as this is just a tool for internal control.

The cheapest way to do this would be to set the laser at the top of the tank and have an external display, which the person could connect (when standing on the ground), and press the button, and get the same reading as he would standing on the top of the tank.

Anyone know of such a system, or something like it?

Very Cheap

Depending on the liquid, if it is not corrosion and is constant density, it is very cheap to use a DP cell. we do not make one, but there are lots of manufacturers, just do a search.
