Overhead crane is a lifting machine used at workshop, warehouse and open stations to lift various materials. In the modern crane manufacturers industrial enterprises, it is one of the important equipment to realize the mechanization and automation of production process, reduce the heavy manual labor and improve the production efficiency, the usage of overhead crane should observe the following security instruction:
1. Overhead crane should be at qualified state, especially the safety device, such as the breaker, sound & light system, signal etc. All these devices should be 100% sensitive and functional.
2. Overhead crane operator should be keep focus among operation, idling before lifting, Send signal before operating. It is forbidden to cross over people’s head among traveling of the lifted material. It is forbidden to repair, refueling or wipe after crane is power on. If any fault happen among operation, crane should be stopped immediately.
3. When overhead crane is stopped, crane should be parked at the parking line, put the hook up and no hanging material at the hook. Put all the control panel, joystick at zero point, switch off the power and lock the cabin door.
4. Overhead crane should be equipped with safety devices. Normally there is buffer, limit switch, overload limiter etc.
5. Crane should be reliable grounding, to avoid any kind of unexpected shock accident. When trolley rail is not welded with main girder, welding grounding method should be used. Transformer should be grounding at the low voltage side.
6. Under following situations the overhead crane cannot be used for lifting:
1) No one command or the command signal is incorrect,
2) Any failure in crane components or safety devices
3) The lifted material weight is not unclear
4) Any person stand nearby the lifting material, or use the hook to lift human being
5) The light is dark
6) The loading has sharp edges or cable-stayed, did not take any safety measures
