Cyclone at low ambient pressure

Posted in: , on 29. Dec. 2006 - 08:48

Hi all, hope someone can help me with this...

I trying to figure out the effect on loading and choking of a cyclone vs ambient pressure....

As I would like to operate a cyclone at a much lower than atmospheric pressure... ~ at or around 12 to 20 kPa...

Im curious to know what the equations are to calculate the choking/saltation velocity and any other important behaviors of the cyclone at reduced pressure...

The cyclone is of the standard Lapple type with a diameter of 15cm.

Let me know if any other info is required!

Thanks,

If you do a search for the works of Rizk and Matsumoto, you will find they have published equations for the information for which you are asking
