You should spend a bit of time in the
consultants data base and also contact
a customs agent in london.
The magazine Pacific shipper is another
source of data. ■

You could try posting your shipping request at REMOVED BY MODERATOR , this site enables you to get shipping quotes from various shipping companies and they compete by bidding for your shipments

Shipping footwear from Guangdong
My company are currently producing the major portion of our goods in the Guangdong region of China and are shipping almost entirely FOB out of Hong Kong. What I am trying to work out is whether HK is our best port of exit. Would using Guangzhou or Shenzhen be better for us? We have been using HK for so long now I think we may have lost sight of the benefits it actually gives us. Can anyone detail the pro's and con's of HK over a mainland port in the region.
Similarly, our port of choice for destination is Felixstowe currently and our DC is in the exact opposite side of the country in the North East of England. As you can imagine we are paying a LOT in inland freight charges and this is another area I am keen to assess. Does anyone have any thoughts on the relative costs of shipping our goods to a more northern port in the UK.
Any suggestions and input are most welcome.
Thanks
Toby
