Getting Started In Powder Technology

Hi Nilesron,
Derek Geldart is running a 4 day course in April on ‘Getting started in Powder Technology’ at Harrogate. See www.powderresearch.co.uk. This would seem to be a useful start for any newcomer to the subject. Another item that may be useful is the ‘Glossary of Terms in Powder and Bulk Technology’ that I prepared for the British Materials Handling Board. At 200 pages, it contains a mine of information about the fundamentals of particulate behaviour and has references for standards and further reading. Contact me at lyn@ajax.co.uk for further details. There are also various technical publications available via the Ajax web site www.ajax.co.uk with information on the site for hopper design and densities of various solids. ■
Professional Courses on Powder Flow
I am relatively new to powder filling technology. I would like to learn more on biopharmaceutical powder flow and property characterization, design of hopper and gravimetric/volumetric/pneumatic fillers on a small scale (3 kg or so).
Can anyone recommend such courses?
Thanks!
