The trommel discharge (Oversize) is likely to contain chips of broken grinding media. You need to handle the trommel discharge and process it for removal of these. Once this is done, you can either return the oversize to ball mill. ■

There are small continous ball mills with throughputs as low as 300 kg/h and batch ball mills with lower capacities.

How much is 1 tph of extra hard iron ore worth to you? Is it the disposal cost that is causing you problems? ROR on crushing 1 tph of iron ore must be capital cost prohibitive unless you can find a very very cheap way to do it. It is definitely not with a HPGR.

I am not an expert on ball mills but if you have additional capacity on your ball mill why not return them to the inlet and do a flush of oversize once a day to prevent any build up of superhard iron ore?
