Signal for automatic dust suppression system.

Dear Sir

If a dust suppression system is designed for 4000 TPH capacity conveyors. If the the load is varies from 0 - 4000 TPH (Specially for port applications) how can we control the sprinkler (Water spraying) flow ?

Generally the automation of dust suppression system is like.... when the load is there the load sensors senses the load and through that signals the sprinklers operates. Sometimes the belt is operated at lower capacity, the sprinkler flow will be the same and the moisture addition will be higher. Is it possible when the belt is being operated at lower capacity is it possible to minimize the sprinkler flow.

Is there any way to transmit accurate signals of load being carried out and control sprinkler flow ?

Is any dust suppression system like this in use. Plz give me reference of the same.

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Maulesh

Exactly I don't know it can be done or not? But, yes inputs from belt weigher system can be utilized for the said purpose.

Actually fog generation depends on the ratio of kg of air to water being used at a particular time, so to reduce fog generation one has to use flow control valves which can vary the flow according to load inplace of usual solenoid valves used at flow activation stations.

That would be the way to go. You need to source a controller; which the valve manufacturer will provide anyway. Then all you need to do is calibrate the valves according to your belt weigher signals. As you suspect; the water saving will very soon pay for the valves.

Are You Measuring The Moisture Content

Erstellt am 19. Mar. 2008 - 05:37

For dust suppression on conveyor systems it would be preferable to use a real time moisture analyser so that the moisture content determines the demand for water rather than just the material flow.

A belt weigher input can be used for tonnage weighting the moisture results so that the moisture content can be determined at any flow rate. A spray system can be activated using the moisture monitor output signal and a control valve to moderate the water flow proportional to the material flow and required moisture demand.

We supply microwave moisture analysers. Although we do not supply the water flow control systems we are happy to work with customers to resolve dust suppression control issues.
