Plastics separation with hamos EKS

hamos EKS electrostatic separators separate mixtures of plastics into their components in a dry process. Such separators can also be used to separate undesired non-conductive contamination in plastics.

The hamos EKS converts, with a minimum of effort, mixed materials through use of the triboelectric behaviour of the individual plastics into fractions of only one sort. This way, valuable raw materials are gained for new high grade products.

The hamos EKS sorts mixtures of plastics such as:

• Waste from plastics production

• Plastics from cable waste

• PVC window profiles

• Engineering plastics

• DSD (green dot) packaging materials

• PET beverage bottles

• Bottle closures

• Plastics from production of cars

• Refrigerators

• And many others

The hamos EKS electrostatic separation process offers the following advantages:

• Dry separation process

• Very high product purities

• Separation independent of specific gravity and colour

• High flexibility: one piece of equipment for many types of mixed plastics

• Low loss of good material

• Proven technology

• Fast amortisation

• High throughputs

• Low expenditure of energy

• Low level of personnel deployment

• Designed for fully automatic 3-shift operation

hamos supplies EKS electrostatic plastics separators for throughputs of 750 kg/h up to more than 3,000 kg/h and with different specifications, optimally adapted to each application.

You are not sure whether your material is suitable for electrostatic separation? hamos will perform a separation trial with your material in the hamos technical department and will demonstrate to you which levels of purity and throughputs can be achieved with your material.
