Screw vane interval (a) 0.24 mter
RPM of screw shaft (n) 102
thanking you, for your quick reply. ■
Screw Feeder
You may be able to secure the information you require from my book: - 'Guide to the Design. specification and application of Screw Feeders', published by the I.Mech.E.
You will see that the interface with the supply hopper is an integral part of the screw feeder design but much will depend upon the nature of the bulk material with which it is to be used.
These devices are essentially volumtric dispensers so any change in the density of the product will tend to be reflected in the output. It should be noted that the discharge is also dependent upon the efficiency of fill of the screw and how the material slips on the face of the screw flight. In most practical applications the rotational speed of the screw is varied to secure the specific rate of feed required, provided the machine is capable of covering the range of output needed.
ON most applications a screw feeder has to satisfy a number of requirements other than the given mass discharge rate. Typically, there would be interest in the flow regime generated in the feed hopper, the state and density condition of the bulk material being discharged and considerations of hygience, cleaning and dimensional contraints to be taken into account. If I can help with any assessment please send full details of the duty to lyn@ajax.co.uk ■
Details About Screw Feeders
Respected Experts!!!
I want to increase the capacity of my screw feeder, which was designed for an bulk density of powder of .4, but the present density is .5, so what are the things i shud look, i feel the capacity automatically increases but do i have to check for any other thing, in this regard i want the help written below too:
Can Anyone plz. provide me with the details of screw feeders, like name of the different parts along with an picture, animations if possible wud be a great help.
Thanking You ■
