Liquidation of STPP Plant (unused!)

Posted in: , on 1. Dec. 2009 - 23:25

The plant was originally ordered by ARADET (Arab Company for Detergent Chemicals), an Iraqi company with main office at Baghdad, and production facilities for detergent raw materials at Baiji. Contractor was a consortium by Spie Batignolles (France) and Abay Engineering (Belgium), the chosen process for the Phosphoric Acid part was that of Prayon, and for the STPP part that of UCB. The contract was embargoed by the 1990 Gulf Crisis, and the majority of the equipment was put on shedded storage by the Consortium at Antwerp. Despite the lifting of the embargo in 2003 it was not possible for ARADET to continue with the project because of missing feedstock basis. An initiative started in 2008 to sell the complete plant to potential investors proved unsuccessful due to weak global STPP markets in combination with the financial crisis. So finally the decision has been taken to liquidate the equipment by selling functional groups or even single items.

The list of items contains various equipment to handle bulk product. Among those a 4 x 400 cbm silo terminal (pre-fabricated), numerous smaller handling and production hoppers, dust filter systems, pneumatic, conveyor and chain transport, bin activators, rotary feeding valves, spiral screw dosing units, etc.

Available are also a bag emptying machine, bag filling lines (one for 25/50 kg bags, one for big bags), and a palletless packaging machine.

All items are completely unused, and stored in seaworthy packing in warehouses located at Antwerp, Belgium.
