Fabric conveyor's Warp and Weft tensile strength

Dear Experts,

My belated new year greetings to all.

I find the weft strength is 40% of the warp strength for light duty conveyors. But for higher duty conveyors weft strength is not specified. If I ask for higher weft strength belts ( 40% of warp strength or more ), what will be the pros and cons ? How much strength can I ask for weft strength in comparison with the warp strength in the same conveyor belt.

Many regards to all and thanking in anticipation,

S.Ganesh

In my opinion, the stronger weft will provide better fastener holding properties, increased impact absorption, and better load support. The main drawbacks are the added cost to manufacture and increased transverse rigidity (troughability).
