Re: Snake Sandwich Conveyor For Coal
Have a dated ('97) reference which has a number of ~4000 t/h installations.
Far from an expert, though it would be hard to imagine any insurmountable reasons that 5,500 t/h would not be achievable. Though there may be issues with "being the first one".

Verticatransport At 5500 T/H
Mr. Patel,
There are ways, other than the snake, to make coal go vertical at 5500 t/h. We can talk about it at your convenience. ■
Vertical Transport At 5500 T/H
Mr. Patel,
Thank you for your post. I apologize for the late response, I was only alerted today of your post by Dr. Wohlbier. Yes it is possible to convey coal at 5500 t/h at high angle with our DSI Snake Conveyor. With the stated assumptions below I offer the following solution:
Material: Coal
Bulk Density: 0.85 t/cu-m
Design Rate: 5,500 t/h
Conveying Angle: 50 degrees
Belt width: 2800 mm
Belt Speed: 4.5 m/s
I hope this is helpful

Mr. Patel,
Please contact me for an alternative solution to the "sandwich" conveyor.

Snake Sandwich Conveyor For Coal
Larry, WallyCutter,
I am curious about your solution. I have myself, in my early career, built 5000 t/h coal bucket elevators, in the form of continuous barge unloaders. They provided a strong impetus for the 1979 bureau of Mines Study. The Study ultimately took a different direction that no one anticipated including the writer. As a result we now have sandwich belt high angle conveyors that are proven now for thirty years. At the 5000 t/h rate, with coal, nothing will touch the Dos Santos Sandwich Belt solution technically and/or economically. Please consider this a challenge.

Snake Sandwich Conveyor for Coal
Dear Mr. Joe dos Santos,
I want to handle coal at the rate of 5500 TPH, is it possible with (snake) sandwich conveying at steep angle ?
If possible please revert back with technical know-how.
