Reclaimer liner damage problem

we are experiencing excessive abrasion problem in side chute liner while handling iron ore lumps (-10 to 40mm). Hardox material was used for the same and got damaged within 30 days. Then we used plates with chromium carbide overlay but we apprehend that the life of the same will not be much more. We cannot use Manganese steel liner due to some curvatures.

Can anybody suggest a suitable liner material for such application for a long duration.

We are also experiencing a peculiar problem of iron ore lump getting struck in between bucket wheel structure and ring chute structure, creating huge noise and damaging both the structures.

A suitable suggestion is expected from our experienced friends to solve the problem.

Liner wear is a matter of choice. There are some very expensive steels available with claims which cannot be substantiated independently. When wear really matters, like in slurry pumps, the manufacturers have calculated the rates of material lost by wearing. Such refinements are unheard of in the dry business. Thicker liners are one answer. Wear will not go away.

The squealing from trapped rocks is endemic with cell less BWE's and the issue is clearance. Less clearance means less entrapment. To achieve improvement you should reduce the gap and reinforce the chute wall.

I need erection tolerances for rail bogies mounting , tolerances of diagonal and parallelism , it will be very helpful for me , because i cannot find in erection manual and google at least! Please

This should have been a new post. Now it is probably too late.

If you have such an important question it seems like you should register as a member.

How old was the machine in question? This will indicate the adjustment available, if any?

The tolerances are simply as close as you can achieve with the available instruments. This assumes you know the original as-built dimensions. You need to be spot on!

For steelworks cranes it was easiest to use light bulb indication & that was at trial assembly. In the field there might be a 300 tonne machine hovering aloft: not easy & potentially very dangerous. You will need the help of a specialist. Stockyard machines operate at very low speeds but require alignment to cover installation. Track variations can & do produce belt off tracking but the machine still needs to be straight running. Usually they are built over about the 1st 50m of track to meet schedule but perhaps you do not have this luxury.

I suggest that you post this issue on a new thread; introduce yourself as a new member & then see what turns up. I say this because if you are plonking an old machine on new tracks you will probably need more help with other issues.

Hello

Would you please post a drawing of your chute and sorrounding equipment.

Ment is that the design of the chute may have a influence of the abrasion, e.g. if you let fall hard materials on an even flor from 10 m heigth then the floor liner will have another abrasion if the falling heigth is 5m or the material slips down on an inclined surface.
