The screen are sized based on screen area unit (the throughput (tons per hour) per square meter of screen area). You can find the details in SME Mineral Processing Handbook, SME.

on a typical 20 deg inclined circle throw.......

it is typically.........60-75 FPM......

if you desire to determine on an actual screen, inclined ....flat or otherwise it is simple procedure.

Spray feed stones or whatever with flourescent orange paint or a colour that turns you on and throw onto the feed end of the screen deck......and time with your watch........SECOND HAND.....til it drops off the end of the deck.

if for example you time......15 seconds....multiply this by 4 and your get your foot travel per minute........FPM.
