Venturi feeders for bulk conveying

Hello,

I was wondering if we can use venturi feeder device to transport cotton over long distance. I have made a cad model see the attached photo. If yes how to make calculations for venturi feeder dimensions.

bulk density of cotton is 38lb/cu.ft

conveying velocity is 3500-500FPM

diameter of cotton balls is around 10mm

conveying distance is 200ft.

Before you can decide for an eductor/venturi, the required air flows and pressures must be known.

An eductor/venturi feeder uses a sonic choke, requiring a blower operating at the critical pressure ratio and therefore the efficiency is low.

The division between the suction air flow and the pressure air flow and the relative pressures becomes even more difficult.
