Dr. Michael Mutz has been new Head of Division, Minerals & Mining at AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH in Rheinberg since April 2012. „We are thus strengthening the team and, in a dedicated manner, we are advancing the business segment expansion in this prospering market“, comments AUMUND managing director Jörg Hoffmann on the joining of Dr. Mutz.

The 41 year-old born and bred Westphalian comes from a mining family and has continued the tradition with geology studies specialised in the exploration of solid mineral raw materials, oil and gas. Even in the early days he was involved in various mining prospecting projects (e.g. at Roland Berger and at CPRM, the Brazilian state geological service. After many years’ activity in iron ore mining in Brazil (ThyssenKrupp) Dr. Mutz graduated from the Technical University of Clausthal in geology. His experience in the machinery and equipment business was gained starting in 2006 at HAZEMAG & EPR where he headed-up international sales and coordination of Key Accounts at HAZEMAG from 2008.
The continually rising demand for raw materials, above all metals, rare earths and fertilisers has taken on a considerable dynamic of its own over the last few years. With raw materials secured, the paths are clear for billions of investment in mining and mining infrastructure.
