Detection of Foreign Matter in Bulk Bags

Posted in: , on 28. Dec. 2009 - 11:14

Dear friends, I am looking for suitable solution for detecting foreign matter such as MS nut bolts, SS pieces, wood pieces, aluminium pieces, rubber/surgical disposable gloves, helmets, paper, thread, cloth, trilaminated pouches, polyester pouches etc in agrochemicals packed in paper bags with LDPE liners OR in jumbo bags. X-Ray inspection machines have not given the desired results. Individuals/Companies with suitable experience in this regard may please contact me at nagdarp at the rate gmail dot com. Thanks in advance

Greetings and salutations from my corner of the Eastern Wilderness @1140 feet above mean sea level.

I see no other solution than breaking every bag and super sack and dumping them into:

A hopper feeding with a magnet at the head pulley of the low speed belt which feeds a small screener to immediately remove any trash;

which then feeds a low speed manual picking belt with a second high strength magnet to remove tramp metal after which the material is simply packaged in new clean super sacks or new open mouth sewn bags.

Or option 2 is simply changing suppliers as they obviously have no concern about product quality or purity and have no quality control of any kind.

Foreign Matter In End Product Material

Posted on 30. Dec. 2009 - 06:32

Greetings Nagdarp

I wish that I could solve your problem easily but I can tell you from work experience

that the human element will be required for your needs-

Short of using air blasters to remove off color materials in the process stream as is done with halite and losing a signifigant amount of product with no garantee of end product purity.

The screener guarantees that any material that is larger than the given seive size of the fertilzer is removed on the first cut period the magnet removes any tramp ferrous metals.

The human element can be used to cover a wide width slow moving picking belt

to remove any visible trash that escapes as the flow of material will be slow moving and a very thin layer across the picking belt.

If you expect to maintain any amount of product purity emptying the bag or supersack after trash detection is going to be required anyway.

Why not simply change suppliers and be done with it?
