Dry/Wet Grinding Mill For Calcined Kaolin
Sir,
We at IAC Minerals have a state of the art plant to produce proccessed and spray dried hydrous kaolin and calcined kaolin.
Proccessed spray dried kaolin is calcined in rotary kiln at a temperature of 1050 C to get a fully calcined kaolin. The
proccess of calcination leads to coagulation/agglomoration of
some portion of clay(say about 20 to 30% of input) while the
balance remains as fine powder. In the agglomorated portion of
calcined clay some are of soft agglomoration and some hard to
very hard with size ranging from 0.5 mm to 10 mm. The present
method adopted by us is to seperate the fines from the coarse
by air classifying.The classified fine powder has particle
size distribution of D50 5 microns and D 97 9 microns with
maximum retention of 2% on 325 mesh (wet sieve analysis). We
are looking for a suitable grinding mill like ball mill,bead
mill ,attrition mill for either wet or dry grinding of
calcined kaolin along with the agglomorated portion to yield a
product with particle size D90 less than 2 microns.
