Water Resistant Chemical Spray

Can anybody suggest a chemical ( which if sprayed on the top surface) can prevent water ingress in to the coal being transported through railway wagons during rainy season??

If available what will be the quantity required for each 55 tonnes of wagons & what will be the cost. Also the source for the same.

Anything you spray on the load will have be consumed by the boiler and be able to be conveyed with no difficulty.

It will also be problematic with you systems being a tippler or bottom dump wagon.

As you are using 55 ton railway wagons the problem is unfortunately one of planning.

1. the only way to prevent it is to install fiberglass covers or add steel covered hopper covers to each car.

2 the fiberglass covers will cost more than the cost of conversion to covered hopper cars.
