Re: Weigh Feeder Calculations
If you prepare a formal specification, go out to tender, select the successful bidder who has offered to include the calculation with the contract documentation after receipt of the initial 40% down payment with your order....you might just be lucky.
Otherwise I don't think you have as much chance as England have of winning the next World Cup. ■

Who is seeking money? Man requested information. Might be available in a book that will cost him to buy the book on Amazon. ■
Weighfeeder Power Calculations
Its quite easy really its all to do with the tension you need in the weighfeeder belt that consists of:
1. The tension to overcome frictional resistance of empty belt and all moving parts turned by it.
2. The tension to move horizontal components of the material or load.
3. The tension to lift or lower the material or load (if weighfeeder is horizontal this is zero).
4. The tension to extract the material from the hopper.
5. The tension to overcome frictional resistance of any belt scrapers, skirt plates, belt ploughs and skirt seals.
The above will give a total tension required in the belt. Convert this to total torque, dependant on head pulley diameter.
I factorise this value by plus 1.4 to cater for losses.
Consider that more power will be required if the weighfeeder has to start up under full load conditions.
I have a spreadsheet that does all this for me.
