We have returned from the IPB International Powder & Bulk Conference & Exhibition Shanghai 2007 and would like to share our impressions with you.

Most of the exhibitors we talked to stated that this venue was successful. Especially the obviously increased number of visitors, and also the quality of these visitors, were an unexpected surprise. Perhaps some efforts from the side of the new owners of this fair, NürnbergMesse China Co., Ltd., Shanghai could already be felt.

Though it was announced in the opening speeches that the number of exhibitors had increased by 30%, it seemed to us that the number of international exhibiting companies was down. At least companies from Europe and North America did not reach the numbers of previous years. Here NürnbergMesse China will have to become active. This huge country with its exploding powder and bulk materials handling and processing industries needs a place for introducing and presenting foreign technology, and the IPB Shanghai venue will be this place.

The next IPB 2008 will be staged again in the Everbright Convention Center, Shanghai, from December 9-11, 2008. For exhibitors from the western hemisphere certainly not an easy time, two weeks before Christmas. POWTECH Nürnberg will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2008.

They and the WES staff will need the help and support of all of us so that this exhibition, and also its accompaying conference, will flourish in the future.
