This course concerns the measurement of particle size distribution and answers the questions what, how and where? First, particle size and size distribution must be clearly defined. There are then numerous instruments to measure particle size distribution but they are based on a few physical principles. How do they work and how should they be calibrated? Finally, should samples be taken to the laboratory or should the instruments be installed on-line in the process?
The objective of the course is to encourage participants to think of these three basic questions as they apply to their own circumstances.
