The world's experts in bulk handling technology came together between 9th and 11th December, 2003 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, Mumbai, for Asia's first ever conference and exhibition for handling, processing, storing and transporting bulk materials.
The 3 day conference program saw research in powder science go hand in hand with emerging trends and technology in bulk handling and processing technology to give the participants a comprehensive overview of the latest in bulk handling.
Presentations were made by over 50 of the world's authorities in bulk material handling over 3 conference days. Papers were categorised by subject. While most presentations were directed at industry and application, we had an overwhelming response from the academia sector as well. Three workshops related to Belt conveying, Pipe conveying and Pneumatic conveying were facilitated. Over 300 participants from all over the world participated in the conference and exhibition. The session contents were structured to benefit a large cross-section of industry and was well attended by plant managers and engineers, operating plant personnel, research
engineers, design personnel and technical directors from the following industry segments: Cement and fly ash, engineering consultants, building and construction, food, pharmaceuticals, mining, minerals and metals, paints and pigments, chemicals, foundry, glass and ceramics, petrochemicals, ports, power, rubber, automobile, textile, soaps and detergents.
The topics covered were: Belt conveying, dust control and filtration, environment and safety, FIBC and bag handling, instrumentation and control, loading and unloading, mixing and blending, powder characterisation, ports and port handling, pneumatic conveying, silos and storage, stacking, blending and reclaiming, size reduction and comminution, wear and abrasion, and weighing and batching.
