while designing systems for increasing the capacity of ball mill we have used horizontal impact crushers for nos. of cement plants in india and got the good results.the system details are as follows-
HIC Horizontal Impact Crushers are implemented into existing grinding plants for the pre-crushing of hard and medium-hard substances, e.g. cement clinker, as well as for the desagglomeration.
By using performance increases up to 30 % are possible while at the same time reducing the energy consumption.
The kind of application determines, if crushing against impact plates or in the material bed is more practical.
Feed and product fineness as well as the material abrasiveness characterise the crushing process.
HIC Horizontal Impact Crushers plant consists of vibrating screen, bucket elevator and dedusting filter.
we used hoizotal impact crusher from a german company called
christain pfeiffer,beckum.i also got the opportunity to visit this comapny in germany to design the lay out for one of plants in south india.if your company needs the same can be designed.
there are other methods also like roller press etc., but during these days impact crushers are more in use.

Clinker reduction
Dear All
I am looking for any information from anyone who has had experience using Vertical Shaft Impactors (VSI's) for clinker reduction in the cement making process.
These machines are sometimes used to reduce the size of clinker entering the ball mills.
I believe the advantages of using this method are:-
1)Generally it is cheaper to crush the clinker prior to milling
2)By using a VSI to help reduce the size of the clinker prior to milling helps reduce the amount of heat induced into the clinker
I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has had some experience with this method ie how successful was it, did it help reduce over costs and by approximately how much, other problems that may have arisen.
