Definition of MIE

Doing work with MSDS forms and have been asked to extract MIE figures where they exist. Can someone define what that is? ■

Chris,

MIE stands for Minimum Ignition Energy. This normally will be in the fire hazard section of the MSDS, and is used to warn of materials that can ignite easily.

Frequently, the values are expressed in millijoules.
