Reclaimer for Bulk Store

Need reclaimer !!!

The existing bulk storage capacity is 47 KT divided into two stores of 12 and 35 KT. Currently we use payloders to reclaim product from the stores. The max achievable reclamation rate in this manner is not more than 1000 tons per day against a total production capacity of 6800 tons per day. The payloader/hopper combination of reclamation is crude and the efficiency depends on many other factors including health of payloaders, efficiency of manpower etc. In order to optimize and possibly increase the capacity of reclamation, we are interested in a scraper/reclaimer.

Pls note that at the feasibility stage of this project, a portal scrapper was considered for the 35 KT bulk store but was dropped due to unfavorable economics. We therefore are interested in a Side or slewing scrapper so that minimum modification has to be done to the existing facility. The attached file has the dimensions and pile hight info. Product info is also enclosed. We would expect a reclamation rate of atleast 80 Tones per hour or more (For 35 KT store)

Would request you to go through this info and suggest the best possible solution. We expect to have your brief proposal along with rough cost estimate as soon as possible. We would also request you to mention the cost of the delivery conveyer (feed from scrapper and delivery to our conveyer outside the bulk store). With the existing bulk store configuration, such a delivery conveyer will move at oneside of the store along its entire length.

The store dimensions are 500x150x54 (LxWxH)

80 tph is just about double what you have now. Capex puts you on a hiding to nothing unles you re-attach the file & explain your mass balances.

Oops; I forgot to ask if you are seriously suggesting that the job is beyond the feasibility stage.

It can't be!

File is attached

The bulk store project was completed some time ago. We need to add the reclaimer to existing facility.

Your daily production capacity is 6800 TPD. For 20 hours per day operation you need a rated reclaimer capacity of 400 TPH.

Your material seems to be light. Is it corn or wheet?

A track mounted bucket wheel reclaimer or a suction type reclaimer may work for you. The layout does not give details and location of conveyor on which reclaimed material is to be loaded.

The product is Urea fertilizer (Prills). We have a 8000 TPD bagging facility. The urea is dumped in bulk store only in periods of truck unavailability (Holidays etc). The reclaimer is intended for the bulk store.

We noted your inquiry. Would you consider a compact crawler mounted Bucket Wheel excavator/reclaimer. Hours approx.600.

Please feel free to contact us for additional information.

Dear Sir,

PLEASE be carefull using diesel equipment or any equipment that has the potential to create an explosive admixture in the Urea. Diesel, Petrol, Any Hydrocarbons, Molases, Sugar or syrups, ETC. as all these make extremely volatile explosive products called 'ANFO'. It takes only one spark or compression from equipment sliding on a concrete floor to ignite the admixture. Using vacuum or air pressured conveyance equipment can pose FaS(Fire and Static) charges sufficient to ignite volitile admixtures. Belt conveyors should also be supplied with FRAS(Fire Resistant Anti Static) belting and componentry as well as all lubricatants in idler rolls and pulleys must comply with non-oxidation specifications.

Urea products can be moved using FRAS bucketwheel or bucket chain drag equipment on rubber tyre or track machines (as we use in underground coalmines ).

The main notice is to bring the danger of hazards that exist to your notice before someone is injured or worse. You cannot be too carefull when handling Amonium Nitrate products or derivitives thereof, as I know personally of 2 incidents where people were killed and large crators were all that was left of the sites.
