Metal separation with hamos KWS

hamos KWS electrostatic separators are used for dry recovery of even extremely fine metal particles from plastics and other non-conductive materials.

It becomes possible in this especially economically efficient way to separate clean valuable metals from waste or to clean plastics from extremely fine metal particles prior to further processing. The KWS separates, for example, residual copper from cable waste, obtains a high grade metal fraction, including precious metals, from finely shredded electronic waste and enables maximum metal extraction, e.g. in recycling of aluminium composite materials, etc.

The hamos KWS separates non-conductive/conductive mixtures such as:

• Used cables

• Electronic waste

• Shredder light fraction (SLF)

• Grinding dust

• Circuit boards

• Aluminium/plastics composites

• And many more

The electrostatic separation process of the hamos KWS offers the following advantages:

• Dry separation process

• Very high product purities

• Optimum for fine metal particles

• Proven technology

• Fast amortisation

• High throughputs

• Low expenditure of energy

• Low level of personnel deployment

• Designed for fully automatic 3-shift operation

hamos supplies KWS electrostatic metal-plastic separators for throughputs of 200 kg/h to 1,800 kg/h and in different versions, optimally adapted to each application.

You are not sure whether your material is suitable for electrostatic separation? hamos will perform a separation trial with your material in the hamos technical department and will demonstrate to you which degree of metal extraction and throughputs can be achieved with your material.

About hamos

hamos GmbH Recycling- und Separationstechnik in Penzberg (Upper Bavaria, Germany) counts among the leading suppliers of technologies for separation and recycling of plastics, cables, electronic waste and composite materials, as well as for separation of metals from plastics, food and other materials.

A particular focus at hamos is production and consistent further development of electrostatic separators for widely differing mixtures of products. Electrostatic separators are, for example, used in particular for sorting of plastics (EKS type), metal-plastic separation (KWS type) and for processing of minerals (EMS type). Electrostatic separators provide satisfaction here through their highest level of efficiency and product purities. Beyond this, the product range is completed by electronic Allmetall separators, magnets, colour sorting equipment and complete lines for recycling, such as for electronic waste recycling. Through co-operation with partners in industry and research, hamos also develops, on request, turnkey special solutions for individual separation problems.
