Aerzen lay the foundation stone of a successful future

Total investments amounting to 50 million EUR

For the Aerzener Maschinenfabrik GmbH, a worldwide leading manufacturer of blowers and compressors, in November this year a new era in the more than 140 years history of the company began.

Already at the beginning of 2006 the decision was made to extend the Aerzen facilities considerably and to invest a total amount of 50 million EUR. A detailed planning project preceded in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for realization of a new production center to be able to achieve the planned quantity increase from 15.000 machines in 2005 to more than 25.000 machines in 2010.

The purchase of a new area with a size of 110.000 sqm as well as the necessary excavations were already realized, so that on 3rd November the official laying of the foundation stone could take place. Together with colleagues, local politicians and residents within a ceremony a blower piston together with a daily paper of the relevant date was walled in the foundation of the new production hall.

The completion of the new production center is planned for June 2007, while the first of the new and modern machining centers due to their delivery time were already ordered some months ago. The new production hall will then cover a surface of 10.000 sqm with a length of approx. 160 m, a width of 65 m and a height of approx. 11,5 m.

Here in future the standard machines in high quantities will be manufactured continuously and completely from delivery of the raw material up to the final assembly of the blowers and compressors incl. packing. For the segment of the special machines and the customer-specific solutions at the same time the existing production facilities are optimized and extended. The new production center will integrate production concepts, production according to highest quality standards as well as energy efficient construction, so that a worldwide competitive location will originate and this will also be assured in the long term.

The present amount of incoming orders of the Aerzener Maschinenfabrik GmbH up to the end of October 2006 is 163 million EUR. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year there is a plus of 23 %, the total amount of incoming orders expected for 2006 is more than 180 million EUR. The turnover with 132 million EUR up to the end of October is also considerably above the previous year.

Up to the end of this year a turnover of approx. 160 million EUR is expected, which would correspond to an increase of approx. 20 % compared to 2005.

During the past 4 years the Aerzen group, which includes besides the parent company 25 subsidiary companies worldwide, could even increase the consolidated turnover by more than 50 %. For the year 2006 another record as well as for the first time a turnover of the group of approx. 200 million EUR is expected.

The reasons for the rapid growth of Aerzener Maschinenfabrik can partly be found in the upward world economic activity. Moreover, the positive business situation is a result of the reinforced ‘Making International’ and the continuous innovation power of Aerzener Maschinenfabrik.Consequently in 2006 the new subsidiary companies Aerzen Turkey and Aerzen India as well as new sales offices in Denmark and in the Saarland (state in Germany) could be established. The international positioning mainly in prospective areas is, therefore, developed gradually.

When looking at business year 2006 there have been high regional rates of increase, Western- and Eastern Europe as well as North America are the leading countries.

The consistent innovations originating from Aerzen may serve as further success guarantee. According to the company’s philosophy Aerzen always does it utmost to be at least ‘one step ahead’ of the international competition. Best proof for this is the new blower unit Delta Blower Generation 5, which was presented for the first time at the exhibition Achema in May 2006 and has determined already today the market standard. Besides the average sound reduction by 6 to 8 dB(A) the advantages of the new unit Generation 5 are e.g. omission of absorption material, easy handling and maintenance as well as reduction of space required.

Further developments in year 2006 have been new sizes in the range of oil-free and oil-injected compressed air compressors, vacuum blowers with canned motor drive and the refrigeration compressors VMY 256 which had just been introduced in October.

Aerzener Maschinenfabrik GmbH has already layed an additional foundation stone for a furthermore successful future by building a new production center and the hereof resulting extension of capacity. This means an important step ahead towards the company’s vision:

‘Being one of the world-wide leading manufacturers of two-shaft positive displacement blowers’!
