Lafarge Cement Opts For HAVER-ADAMS-PROCESS Machine Technology

With positive experiences from using the machine technology based on the HAVER-ADAMS-PROCESS introduced just a year ago, the responsible persons at Lafarge Cement in Dunbar Scotland have given the green light to procure two additional ADAMS machines, each with 10 filling spouts. THE ADAMS fills powder-type building materials into polyethylene bags. With already five units of THE ADAMS in the Production and one unit of THE BENJAMIN from the same product line, this represents for Haver & Boecker broad acceptance of the revolutionary machine technology. The HAP technology is based on a newly developed net weighing system, a multi-stage bag filling, a high performance compaction system and a new bag concept.

THE ADAMS is a rotating packing machine for filling powder type building materials such as cement, dry mortar or building chemicals into plastic bags. This fully automatic packing machine with a production rate of up to 1200 bags per hour enables plants to pack fine powder-type materials in an environmentally friendly manner into leak-proof, weather resistant, easy-to-stack bags.

The advantages provided by this new machine technology have been confirmed and proven in just a matter of months:

- a compact, leak-proof package

- optimum product protection against moisture and oxidation, which makes it possible to store filled bags outside exposed to the weather, thus greatly extending the storage time

- cleanliness during the bag filling process and throughout the entire logistical chain

- an improved optical appearance through high quality bag printing methods with a glossy effect increases consumer acceptance and sales

- a compact, stable and perfect stacking of bags

- a highly durable packaging

The machines ordered for Scotland are scheduled to be delivered and put into operation in June and August 2007.
